Lockdown Update 16th Nov 2021

Kia ora

I am very pleased that Te Awamutu College can return to Alert Level 2 tomorrow (Wednesday 17 November).
Attached are Student Instructions to remind us all of what AL2 involves in a school setting. Please note, that although face coverings are not mandatory at school under AL2, face coverings are required for students aged 12 years or over on school transport.

We will continue with our planned programme for Seniors, including:
· Deans’ Assemblies
· Year 11 Awards Presentation
· Year 12 & 13 Awards Presentation
The Awards Presentation ceremonies will be live streamed on: https://www.facebook.com/teawamutucollegenz

Years 11-13 all have study leave from Friday 19 November.

Juniors (Year 9 & 10) are very welcome to return to Te Awamutu College on Monday 22 November. Of course, if students are unwell with any cold or flu like symptoms, they must stay home. Because we have a number of planned assemblies and prize-givings for our Senior students the short notice of the shift to AL2 means that we are unable to accommodate the return for Junior students until Monday 22 November. Further to that, our concern about having the entire school onsite remains, despite the move to AL2 due to the proximity of recent and current community cases. The physical and emotional well-being of our students and staff remains paramount to us.

It will be good to be able to finish off Term 4 with some sense of routine, which is beneficial to us all.
