Over the last two years, I have achieved my NCEA Level 1 and 2, my focus for this year is to also obtain my NCEA Level 3. Throughout my time at Te Awamutu College, I have been involved in the Camp Committee, Ball Committee, Service Committee and sports teams with my main focus in extracurricular activities being Rugby where I was lucky enough to make the First XV Rugby team last year and aim to make it again this year.
I hope to fulfill my role as Head Student throughout 2026 to the best of my abilities, while pushing myself no matter the task at hand. I aim to further improve my leadership qualities whether it is on or off the field whilst encouraging other to do the same.

Before Te Awamutu College, I went to Pokuru School and later moved to Te Awamutu Intermediate. During my time at Te Awamutu College, I have played in the First XI Hockey team since Year 9 and have been a part of the Athletics team. I have always been eager to participate in all school and house events and represented Kikorangi the best I can. Along with this, I have been involved in various committees, which have made me better at working alongside others. Outside of school, I am a part of a Te Awamutu Men's Hockey team as well as previously playing for Waikato Under 16’s hockey. I also have many other hobbies which include hunting and fishing.
This year, I will use my chosen subjects to get into Paramedicine in Auckland, while leaving time for my role and hobbies. I hope to use my role as Head Student to help many people and extend my abilities inside and outside of school. I wish to inspire others to give things a go and take a leap of faith because you’ll never excel if you don’t try. I am a friendly and confident person, so if you ever need help, come have a chat.
Before Te Awamutu College I attended Ōtorohanga South School. Here I met lifelong friends and learnt lessons I still use today.
During these past 4 years at Te Awamutu College, I have enjoyed playing netball for the school as well as volleyball for one season. I have also been involved in a number of committees and taken part in many house events, helping Kōwhai reach success. We haven't come out on top for a few years, but hopefully this year Kōwhai will gain bragging rights once again.
Through my involvement in aspects the school has to offer, I have made new friends and discovered that being a part of a team or group has a big impact. So, I encourage every one of you to try something new this year. There are so many options to choose, whether it’s sports, committees, clubs, or different courses
Outside of school I love to dance, which I have been doing for my whole life. From ballet to hip hop, dance is my happy place and performing a concert at the end of the year is always one of my highlights.
This year the subjects I’m taking are Mathematics and Statistics, Extension English, Chemistry, Biology and Sports Science. Some of my goals I have this year are to achieve NCEA Level 3 to the highest standard I can. Which will help to open opportunities for the future. At the same time, I would like to make the most of my last year I have at college.
I started my schooling years at the small country school Korakonui. For Years 7 and 8, I attended Te Awamutu Intermediate and then came to Te Awamutu College in Year 9. If anyone needs help, don't be shy to approach me. It may seem daunting but I'm always keen or a chat.
I have been a part of the First Eleven hockey team since Year 9 as well as being in the Premier lacrosse team for Years 10 and 12. I am also a part of the debating team and senior concert band playing the saxophone. In addition, I have been involved in committees such as Service, Health, and Ball. This year I plan to continue with committees, hockey, band and debate whilst hopefully leading Pounamu to victory. Amongst all this I make time to study and spend time with family and friends.
My plan for next year is to study first year health science at Otago University. The subjects I am taking this year are Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Sports Science, as well as making use of a study period. I achieved ncea Level 1 and 2 with Excellence and hope to do the same this year. I hope to step into my new role with confidence to be the best leader I can.
This year, the subjects you’ll see me in are Health, Sports Science, Sport Elite, Biology, and Sport and Recreation. I’ve chosen these subjects to strengthen my understanding of the human body, with the goal of one day working as a physiotherapist.
I have achieved NCEA Level 1 and Level 2, and this year my focus is on gaining NCEA Level 3. During my time at Te Awamutu College, I’ve been involved in a few committees, and I plan to continue contributing wherever I can. I’ve played rugby throughout my time at the college and regularly participate in house events, which has helped me build strong teamwork skills and connections across the school.
As your Board Student Representative, I want to be fully involved this year and take every opportunity that comes my way. I want students to feel comfortable and confident coming to me to talk about what’s on their mind. I aim to be a confident but friendly face who listens to student voices and works alongside the Board to create positive and meaningful outcomes for our school and the wider Te Awamutu College community. No matter who you are in our school, I want to be someone you can approach and rely on.
