Arts and Culture Activities
The College values cultural and arts activities and encourages students to participate in cultural and arts activities.

Our cultural and arts groups and individuals are encouraged and supported to gain regional and national recognition.
 

Kapa Haka

Te Awamutu College has a Kapa Haka Group, "Te Hokai Rangatahi". It welcomes any new students.
 

Performing Arts

This is a strength of the school. All students have the opportunity to participate on and off the stage in every aspect of Performing Arts:

Music

The College has a performance-based music programme in Year 9 and 10 that enables students to study a range of courses that enable them to gain the entry requirements ofthe NCEA Music Courses in the Senior School.

Students who select Year 9 and Year 10 Music as a subject become the members of “Support Act” - the , Junior Concert Band and Drumline.

Senior Concert Band and Jazz Band are auditioned groups which cater mainly for Year 11, 12 and 13 students who have reached a higher level of musicianship.

Student-driven vocal and rock groups are encouraged.
