Academic Excellence Evening - Recent News - Te Awamutu College
On Tuesday, March 30 Te Awamutu College held the Academic Excellence Evening at Vilagrad Winery.
It was great to resume this wonderful annual tradition after last year’s cancellation due to Covid-19. 129 students received their medallions (an increase of 27 from 2020).
This year 307 students, parents, caregivers, extended family members, staff and Board of Trustees members gathered to celebrate the students’ success, to socialise and to have a mouth watering meal that Vilagrad always provides.
Students earned a Gold (50 - 59), Silver (30 - 49) or Bronze (15 - 29) Medallion for achieving NCEA Excellence Credits. Distinctions can be gained by achieving 60 plus credits at Excellence level.
Congratulations for topping their year levels go to Sandie Goodrick who earned 73 Excellence Credits at NCEA Level 1 and Megan Walker and Matthew Yarndley who earned 92 Excellence Credits at NCEA Level 2.
They received blazers to wear throughout the year.
